This year, we warmly invite you to the Tandem Meeting in Urlau – a charming village belonging to the town of Leutkirch in the Allgäu region.
Urlau delights visitors with its historic Gasthof Hirsch and the Genussmanufaktur. The village is a vibrant piece of the Allgäu, shaped by church bells, tractors, and cows – authentic, traditional, and full of atmosphere.
Located in the Württemberg part of the Allgäu, just a few kilometres from the Bavarian border, Urlau offers an ideal setting for our Tandem Meeting.
The Genussmanufaktur opened in September 2019 in a former brewery building. Here, more than a dozen independent artisans and culinary craftsmen present their products. A village shop and a cosy café invite you to linger.
Very close by lies Schmidsfelden, with its fully preserved glassmaking village. Glass is still produced and sold there today. A museum and fascinating guided tours make a visit a truly special experience.
Just a few kilometres away, on the grounds of the former army munitions depot – known as the “Muna” – the Center Parcs Allgäu was opened in October 2018. Its opening has given a strong boost to tourism in the region.

Accommodation: Allgäuer Genusshotel
“The Allgäuer Genusshotel” – a place where tradition and indulgence go hand in hand.
The heart of the ensemble is the historic Gasthof Hirsch, lovingly awakened from its long slumber in 2011. The inn’s dining room, furnished in the style of 1906, still exudes its original charm. Where hay was once stored, celebrations now take place: the former hayloft provides the perfect setting for weddings and family gatherings. And in the historic ballroom, 13 unique hotel rooms were created – each with its own story and character. In addition to the old washhouse, which houses further rooms, a modern timber‑constructed hotel building was added in 2022. In this way, the Genusshotel combines tradition and contemporary architecture in a truly special way.
Participants wishing to camp can pitch their tents directly on the meadow next to the hotel. Parking spaces for motorhomes are available in the hotel car park.
The shared dinner will take place, as usual, on the second evening (Sunday).

Registration
After registration, a deposit of 200 euros for hotel guests and 100 euros for campers is due per tandem team.
A confirmation of registration will be sent once the payment has been received, or upon receipt of the registration when using the direct debit payment method.
A Santana tandem is not required!
